Lent Day 20 – New Creature

Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 5: 11-19

Man became sinner from the first parents on earth and got saved by the blood of Jesus.

It is said that “for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:22). In verse 24, it is said that we are being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Therefore, for any human to come to the throne of God’s mercy, there must be admittance of sins, ask for forgiveness, accept Jesus Christ as the Lord and Saviour, hence, he/she will become renewed in His blood. Thus, a New Creature.

The primary race for Christians is salvation. In addition, most things that we desire on earth can only be rightfully received if we forsake sins and be adopted into Christ’s redemptive family. Without Him, there is no us,; without Him, there is no salvation; and without His authority, Satan will only package destruction for us in the mould of success.

To walk rightly with Master Jesus, we must take away all filthiness, and other ungodly behaviour. He assured us in Matthew 11:28-30, that we should come to Him all that Labour and He will give us rest. These are tested assurances and working well for those that believe solely in Him.

He is the Great Healer, the Miracle Worker, the Presiding High Priest, the Prophet of prophets, and the only Access to God. When we fail to accept him, then we are rejecting God, our Creator.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says that “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passes away; behold, all things are become new”.

He is also a Great Teacher and if we take our time to study his teachings on the Mount (The Beautitudes), it will lead us into knowing Him the more.
For instance, in Matthew 5:13 He says that we are the salt of the earth. This presupposes that we are a blessing to the world if we become a New Creature.

It is, thus, a necessity for us to completely do away with the Adamic old nature and adopt the nature of the Lamb, which leads to salvation and good living that is acceptable within the spiritual realm.

May we not go back to the old nature of sin, through Christ our Lord.

Memory Verse:
Matthew 5:17
“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy but to fulfil”.
